A Beautiful Gift

For my birthday late last year Sarah made me this beautiful gift, a framed calligraphy picture* of Psalm 16: 11, knowing how much this Psalm is one of my many favourites =D. It blessed me very much, as you can imagine, and I have it sitting on my desk, to remind me that it is in the Lord's Presence, in abiding in His love, that true joy comes. May we abide in our Lord and Saviour always, and look to Him, the author and finisher of our faith!

Here are some pictures... Thanks, Sue, I love you so, and you're such a wonderful big sister :).

Sarah does beautiful calligraphy...

Besides calligraphy, she also shares lovely classical paintings of the past that you'll love.

an up-close view of the verse...
"Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Psalm 16 (KJV)

The Lord is our portion forever. May we always cling to Him. May Jesus richly bless you all today, dear sisters.

Postscript: Sarah wanted me to tell you that she only filled in (coloured) the text and image, which was a ready-made template. Also the gold lettering is imitation gold-leaf not real gold. However with many of her other artwork she draws the texts and images herself and uses real gold-leaf. She just wanted you to know =D.

  4. Dear Joy, thank you for creating a safe and Godly place for me to visit this Sunday morning. As I read the Psalm in this post to the accompanying music, the words became even more real to me. That is silly perhaps, because His words are eternal, but I guess I was just more open to really hearing them.
    In Him,
    Maria
